The Future Pension for employers

The new pension system entails a number of changes – not only for members, but also for employers. Pensioenfonds PDN actively involves employers in communication with employees, whether they have just started, have been with the company for some time, or are due to leave the company soon.

Pensioenfonds PDN takes responsibility for providing clear information about the new pension scheme and offers employers the resources they need to keep their employees well informed. This is important because employers are often the natural point of contact for employees on matters relating to their terms and conditions of employment and pensions. This direct link provides an opportunity to reach employees in an accessible way with information about their pensions. To support employers in this regard, Pensioenfonds PDN provides communication resources tailored to each stage of the communication campaign – from initial awareness to making choices.

The New Pension communication campaign

The aim of the communication is to make employees aware of their 'Future Pension' – and of the choices they may or may not have in this regard. This enables them to gain a timely understanding of what is changing and what that means for their personal situation.

The new pension scheme goes into effect on 1 January 2027

Although 1 January 2027 may still seem a long way off, preparations for the new pension system are already in full swing. Find out how you can adapt to your employees' needs and make pension a topic of discussion.

Roll-up banners will be made available to companies that do not use narrowcasting/broadcasting screens and can be displayed in a central area.

Ideally, place the banner in an area where employees enter the building or meet one another, such as reception areas or lounges.

The banners are sent out by Pensioenfonds PDN. When you receive a roll-up banner, check right away that it can be set up.

That is hardly surprising – for many young people, pension is something to think about later on. Nevertheless, it is important to show that the choices they can make now will have an impact on their future.
Under the new pension system, Sara will have her own pension account. The pension account is linked to the economy's performance and offers opportunities for growth. She still has a broad horizon: she can still go in any direction – both in her personal life and in her career. As time goes by, her situation and her pension savings become increasingly more important. As she approaches retirement, her pension savings give her a realistic picture of what she can expect.
Sara's story helps create communication that appeals to young people: raising awareness, relevance, tangibility and a forward-looking approach. Not through persuasion, but by encouraging them to think.

and also represents the face of the organisation when it comes to providing information on the value transfer of pension entitlements. He represents the employee who is constantly on the move. He changes jobs, looks for new opportunities and makes choices that will shape his future. Pensions are not on his radar. However, right now he is in the driver's seat: he has the option of taking his accrued pension with him to a new employer, or leaving it behind. This is referred to as “Value transfer”. Frank's story helps create communication that appeals to people who tend to change jobs: control and freedom of choice.
