Media reports suggest that surviving dependent’s pension payments may be at risk because of coronavirus. This is definitely not the case at PDN. The fund will pay surviving dependent’s pension even if the member or pensioner dies from coronavirus.
The reports circulating in the media relate mostly to some life insurers that might refuse to pay surviving dependent’s pension if an insured person puts themselves at the very risk for which they are insured. For example, if an insured person travels to a country with a negative travel advisory and later dies. Even then, a member or pensioner will receive a surviving dependent’s pension from PDN.
