Two Board members representing pensioners are stepping down in July 2020. That is why elections are being held for new Board members representing the pensioners. Board members need to know a great deal about pensions and must be able to devote enough time to the role. A long period for transferring and gaining knowledge is therefore by no means a luxury. We are happy to spend time on this. This means that once elected, new members can first become prospective Board members. Once they have been elected, they start a specific training course for the position in question. If they meet the minimum requirements for membership of the Board, we put their names forward to De Nederlandsche Bank for assessment. With DNB's approval, their four-year term of office on the Board will start on July 1st 2020 at the earliest.
Board candidates
All pensioners receiving a pension from PDN on July 1, 2020 could put themselves forward as candidates until January 17, 2020. The election committee is delighted with the number of applications it has received. Twelve pensioners have put themselves forward. A selection committee of the Supervisory Board verifies the suitability of the candidates. After that, a list of candidates is compiled.
Voting
Voting is open from the end of March. All pensioners who are entitled to vote will receive information about the candidates on the electoral list and a ballot paper and/or login codes to vote online.
At the end of April we will announce the new Board members via the website.
