Change to pension scheme Published: 04-01-2024

Employees will accrue more pension
Your pension scheme with PDN changed on 1 January 2024. The change means that, as an employee, you will accrue more pension in 2024. The accrual rate for retirement pension will increase from 1.4% to 1.738%, and there will be an increase of the accrual rate for partner’s pension and temporary partner’s pension.

The pension contribution rate will remain the same for the next two years at the current 24.17%. This is good news, as it means you enjoy higher pension accrual while paying the same contribution. The higher pension accrual rate is possible due to increased interest rates, which have reduced the cost of pensions.

New rules for pensions
The new Pensions Act came into force on 1 July 2023, but it will take some time before you notice its effects. dsm-firmenich and the labour unions want to switch to the new system on 1 January 2026. Before that happens, dsm-firmenich, unions and PDN need to make many decisions. In the coming weeks and months, PDN will send you regular updates of developments via the available communication channels.
