Over the years, PDN has evolved into a pension fund that manages the collective pension schemes of 16 companies, including dsm-firmenich. Having an external independent chair is in keeping with this profile, which is why PDN has appointed Arend de Jong as external independent chair of the board with effect from June 20, 2023.

Arend has gained extensive knowledge of pension matters through his work as a pension fund manager and as deputy chair of KLM’s three pension funds. He has a reputation for being a unifying administrator. In addition to his role as PDN chair, he will continue to work for KLM as Senior Vice President Corporate Finance & Treasury.
