On February 15, 2022, Ton de Boer stepped down as a member of the PDN Board on behalf of the pensioners, having reached the maximum term stipulated in the articles of association.
Ton had been a Board member for 12 years and had also held the role of vice chairman. In the first six years, he was the representative for active members and then acted as the representative for pensioners.
As a pension fund, we are grateful for the enthusiasm and energy with which Ton carried out his role. Ton fully believed in ‘PDN pension fund belonging to all of us’, and it is something he worked tirelessly for. He was committed to standing up for the interests of all members while raising awareness of pensioners’ viewpoints. His main focus was on ensuring that pensions were administered properly, that there was a balanced consideration of interests, and that the fund could explain the often complicated decisions it had to make.
Ton was particularly active in the Pensions and Communication and Complaints and Disputes Committees. During his time in the role, he served on the PDN Executive Board with many chairmen, including Edith Schippers, who has been chairman since mid 2019.
Ton has showed great determination, commitment, and dedication in representing those who voted for him, as well as the Fund, for more than a decade.
After a bridging phase as a prospective member of the Board and following the completion of his term as a member of the Board on behalf of employees, Piet Rennen was appointed as a member of the PDN Board on behalf of pensioners on February 15, 2022.
Piet is no stranger to the pension fund. He previously served as a Board member on behalf of the employees for almost nine years (until December 2020) and thus has a long track record. Piet brings a wealth of experience in investments and pensions as well as business management and finance. He will be a member of the Pensions and Communication Committee and, on behalf of the PDN pensioners' section, will take a seat on the Management Committee for the Wet Toekomst Pensioenen (Future of Pensions Act).
We would like to thank Ton for his contribution and commitment to our pension fund, and wish Piet every success.
