What if you become wholly or partially disabled?
No one likes to think about long-term illness or disability. But it can happen to anyone. And if it does, you will want to know the financial arrangements in place for you. Especially if you have a family.
What if you become wholly or partially disabled?

The arrangements in place for you
Statutory benefit (WIA)
You are always entitled to a WIA benefit until you reach your State Pension Age (AOW age).
👉Go to the UWV website for more information.
Statutory benefit (WIA)
Partially disabled (up to 80%)
Whether you receive a supplement to your WIA benefit depends on the arrangements made by your employer.
👉 Ask your employer about this!
Partially disabled (up to 80%)
Fully disabled (80–100%)
You receive a disability pension from us, which supplements your WIA benefit up to 70% of your pensionable salary.
Fully disabled (80–100%)
And your pension later?
If you become at least 35% disabled, you will continue to accrue pension for the part for which you are disabled. This is based on the salary you had before you became disabled. The corresponding contributions are paid by Pensioenfonds PDN.
When you reach your State Pension Age (AOW age), your WIA benefit and any supplement will stop, and your state pension and pension begin.
And your pension later?
Care for your surviving dependents
If you pass away while you are disabled and still accruing pension, your partner/children will receive a partner’s pension and/or orphan’s pension from your pension pot.
